David a quick response to your comments. I totally understand where you are coming from, it is very difficult to think about something bad happening to someone you love, I am much more apt to stand up for another person who is being persecuted or put down. The point is to do it in a non-violent way. Something to think about really fast, are we first for the kingdom of God or first for our families? It is my belief that the kingdom comes first, and I think that this is testified to in Jesus remarks about His mom, at this moment I can not remember what the referent is sorry.
